Last month I read that they were remaking The Neverending Story but I never knew that was based on a book. So I went out and read it last month. The book, which even in its translated form from German, is amazingly inventive and well written. There’s definitely another side to the story that could be fleshed out in a remake but would have to be dealt with deftly. This leads to the recent trailer for the next film from Spike Jones, another adaptation for a book about youthful imagination. I was a bit doubtful when I first heard about this project but with Spike Jones at the helm, my cautious optimism was rewarded when I saw the trailer.

Also I’ve been savoring the words of The Graveyard Book as read by the author himself on this site, listening to about a chapter week. I don’t think I will ever read another one of his books without hearing his accent in my mind.
